As a species, human beings are very sensitive to changes in lighting. Together, the human eye and brain work together to make sense of various images and colors. However, do humans see colors through their eyes or through their brains? While human eyes are capable of distinguishing varying wavelengths of light the colors associated with these lengths through sight, colors are a creation of our brain, society, and culture. It is important to remember that color is not light, yet light can take on various forms of color as defined by humans (Lotto, 2011).
